    hi everyone

what a great site for information exchange.

i am looking to buy a new A6 Avant S line, the colour is Daytona Grey but I have not seen it except in brochure or online, I think I saw it a long time ago and it looked "brown" - or is that the lava grey ?

What are your thoughts on Daytona Grey ?

That's Dakota Grey you're thinking of.

IMO Daytona Grey's a really nice colour. But then again I may be some what biased as my C6 is Daytona Grey and no prizes for guessing what colour my soon to be delivered C7 is!

Kamza, thank you for your quick reply.

yes I soon realised that once I downloaded a full brochure, somewhat like an A4 i had back in 2005 which was Dolphin Grey, so it's a done deal now and should be with me end of next week, beginning of week after.

Unless you pay silly money for exclusive paint, I think Audi's A6 colours are a bit boring. Mine is Daytona as I liked that the most. It is grey (not brown ) with a good metallic sparkle. One problem is it is a bit road coloured and not that conspicuous. Your s line DRLs will help with that though

    Hi there,

One thing I did was to look through the used section of the Audi website, this has pictures of real life cars in all colours. Although it is no substitute for seeing the cars in real life, and what made me finally settle on Daytona grey was when I stopped someone to ask what colour their car was as it looked awesome and it was the Daytona.

I would describe it as a kind of gun metal grey.

I have a daytona grey c6, really like the colour. Looks great when clean in the sun, not a lot of that in Scotland mind you. I wasn't particularly after that colour, its just what came up at the time.

My last car was a Seat Leon in a platinum grey which was definitely lighter in colour

here is a wee daytona pic, any excuse

I have a daytona grey Avant, and like the colour a lot - it's a nice contrast to the silver trim highlights and alloy wheels, and a also a contrast to the tinted windows. Best bit is that it looks after a wash and keeps looking good even when the car get a bit dirty after driving around...

My wife's car is metalic white - and while it looks good when it's clean, it shows up any dirt. Had a black car in the past - same issue with showing up the dirt...

I found this while looking for pics of the a6 avant. Admittedly it's the a4 avant in Daytona grey with the black optics but I have not been able to find an a6 equivalent...

    Not mine btw.

Thanks everyone, I will try to post pics when I get it next week, but if normal "preparation" is anything to go by I may want to wait until I get to clean it myself
