Flashing glow plug light and loss of power

Hello

Sorry if this one has been asked before but I have been having trouble with my Passat 2008 tdi CR. When I first start driving, the car is fine then after about 10 miles if I accelerate up hill there is a sudden loss of power and the car says "engine fault workshop". The glow plug light flashes and the car goes into limp mode. If I turn the ignition off then on again the power comes back ok for a few miles and then will go again. Could this possibly be a sensor issue as it resets every time you switch the ignition on and off.

Probably DPF pressure sensor although your need a scan to pinpoint the problem directly.

Thanks Chris if it was this is it an expensive job or something fairly easy to fitted myself

I can't advise until you have the faults read but Audi told me it was one of the fiddliest sensors on the car as the one on my A3 went south.

I had the same problem on my 2.0 tdi CR but bluemotion passat..

It would only happen now and again at first but as the weeks went by it got worse as they couldn't find the fault.
It got to the stage when driving I would turn off/on to reset limp mode..

The problem was fuel related fault which would happen for a split second then go. (logged 90 times...)
It would not show any fault codes but would be logged as car gone into limp mode.
It went back many times to my local indi starting with replacing the cheapest fuel sensors to eventually find the fault with a sensor in the main fuel pump near the front of the engine.
It was an expensive fix at £650 (was quoted £900 but for cash £650) as the sensor was not a separate part.
To be fair with my local indi they was great and patient, they would not charge me for checking and resting the fault when I called in many times on the off chance and the other sensors they fitted to try and solve the fault..

Forgot to say it would log high pressure fault and low pressure fault at the same time on vag which he found strange..

Hi can anyone help please . My 1.6 audi a3 is in limpt mode with engine light on and glow lights on . Garage said it was egr valve . Booked in to change it however he than said its not the egr valve and we should have egr mapped out . After being messed around another garage has now said its the oxygen sensor any advice please will the pxygen sensor cause limpt mode and engine and glow plug lights on
