cd changer issue

Evening all, for a while now my cd changer has been saying disc 2 is unreadable. I assumed it was a dodgy disc, this evening i changed that disc to a new one and still I'm getting the same message. Does this mean my changer is dying? Not really concerned as i always listen to my ipod or radio.

Yes Chris, all other slots are fine which is confusing me. If it was a laser issue it wouldn't read any slots would it? I can only assume it's to do with the loading of slot 2.

Thats what I'm thinking too - maybe just a fault with slot 2 then.

I'd chuck a lens cleaner into slot 2 and see if that helps but if it's not affecting any other slots then I'd just live with it.

Will try a cleaner but not expecting much mate. As I always use other sources it certainly not going to bother me. Long shot i know but is there a dvd player/changer compatible with mmi 2g high?

no harm in trying but up to you.

im pretty sure 2g didnt have any functionality for dvd playback but probably something like an xcarlink with a video input connected to a dvd player would work, would have to look into it though as im not 100% on that.

I'm aware of doing dvd via Xcarlink as that's an option I've looked into with depth. Just wondered if audi did an option when new. I'll be going dvd changer in the boot via Xcarlink to headrests monitors and mmi screen also with rear camera
