Audi A4 1.9 TDI Thermostat location.

Hello All.

This is my first time at posting a thread, so please forgive any mistakes.
Does anybody know where the thermostat is located on a 2002 saloon model A4 1.9 TDI engine? I have followed the top hose from the radiator to the rear of the engine, is it located with a mirror.
Any photo's or sketches would be very appreciated.

It is located quite low down on the left hand side (right side viewed from the front).
It has a plastic housing held on by spring clips.
It is an awkward, but not too difficult job, to change it.

It's just behind and below the alternator.. If its the original bolts its easily undone using a 5mm long ball ended Allen key. Pull the clip out the intercooler hose and move the hose to the side. Also take the clip out the coolant hose and seperate it from the thermostat housing. This gives you a little more room to remove it.. Should take about 20 mins to do.. Remember to top up with the correct coolant..
