How many litres of fuel left in tank after warning light comes on???

Just wondered how many litres are left in the tank of a 130 BHP golf TDi after the warning light comes on? My tank is 55 litres and when the light comes on to tell me its pay time for the Tax office, I have put in about 47 litres. Does that mean I have 8 litres left???? ( i am usually good at 'Math')

If you have vcds you can check the tank level in litres via the instrument cluster module measuring blocks

very clever. i dont have a scanning tool. might risk it and see how much i have left in miles driving like a grandad. lol

Hi Geoff.
For the 130BHP Tdi ( 96kw), the fuel tank holds approx 55 litres of which approx 7 litres are reserve.
I presume that when the light comes on, that is the start of the reserve kicking in.
I wouldn't use your mileage as an indicator as there is differences in driving style, urban,extra urban and combined.
Personally, I have never got to the reserve and have never had the fuel light come on.
