    Hi,

I'm talking about the motor that actually opens and closes the tailgate all the way, not the release/lock down by the bumper. This function was an optional extra I believe.

My motor has stopped working. Does anyone know if there's a fuse for it? I'm hoping that there is and it's blown, rather than the motor has burnt out or failed. I've looked in the manual, but can't find any mention of a fuse related to this motor (perhaps because it was an optional extra?) but there must be one somewhere.

    Thanks.

is your car an estate or a saloon? i dont know about an estate, but on the saloon the tailgate is held and lifted by 2 gas struts. these can be easily replaced and are quite cheap. around 15 quid each i think.

It's an estate - and it's the electric motor that lifts and closes the tailgate that's failed.

I'm trying to find out whether it might be a fuse and if so where it is. Anyone have any ideas?

Me too. It was £283 +VAT as a factory option (2008 B6 price list)
Kufatec has it as a retrofit kit. But havn't yet looked in detail

Thanks for the links RichardSEL - very helpful. I'll take another look when I get the chance during daylight hours.

In the fuse table, do you know what "SA4 or SA5" and "SD 24" and "SD 25" mean? These seem to be the fuses that apply to the rear lid control units (tailgate motors).

    Thanks again.
