I have cleared it and it has not returned.... but coding before SVM Coding: 0011772 .... after SVM Coding: 0000000 ... so has dealer not coded ECU correctly

    Now before SVM ECU software P/N: 4F0 910 401 L rev 0040 ... now ECU software P/N: 4F0 910 401 A rev 0020 ... have I taken a step backwards

    Idle/Rev problem still exists

Dealer has advised a MAF replacement... when asked if it will definitely solve issue the adviser replied most certainly but can not give guarantee...

    I feel demoralised

IMO the sector which this car is pitched at is high end... is prestige motoring like this?

I've gotta say hat's off to dealer as they have done 2-3 issues under goodwill... even today after saying per hour charge they lowered it substantially... they have offered MAF at discounted price than list... Genuine MAF List £255 offered at £225...

When do I say enough is enough... so where do I go from here

Replace MAF, if it works bonus....if not then sell. As you have already said, "where do you draw the line?", this could be the nudge you need in either direction.

    Thanks for support and viewpoint...

I really can't believe there is something major wrong as engine/transmission looked so clean and leak free when viewed on removal... on ramp car viewing from below parts look so good for age/mileage...

Yes everything I've removed and changed has been original... when doing retros viewing modules, etc all original...

There are too many reasons as to why I like the A6 and the spec I bought... but looking at bills I've paid... bad choice... in my case...

Hey Gup, one step forward at least.

No expert on module coding, all I can say is with my battery manager module that had all zeros on the original coding, it gave me no end of hassle, but as soon as I discovered it and coded it all was well. Different module of course but I suspect it should have a code.

With the MAF, longshot but is yours the same part number as mine? If so happy to meet up and swap for a test. Could the dealer not install one as a test, you are paying them to fix things and not just guess after all - maybe they have a used car or spare part they could use for a quick test? Worth asking as it does seem a bit cheeky to say you will have to pay if it doesn't work.

If it's the MAF then a result . If it is faulty, is it worth/an idea to clean it, nothing to loose.

the update wipes the code so recode it as the dealer is stupid (tpi states code may be lost)

    Hi Andy,

I asked can you test with new... sorry sir no stock... if dealer get one dealer say we are lumbered with it...

But you would think they are going to have other cars that would require it?

They would not supply data as to how the reached conclusion it is MAF... when doing MVB 07 10 18( Link:- Data post ) things like MAF/THROTTLE all look good...

But again I'm just a meddling owner

Yes... I said I can not disclose... I printed the one from my updated software...

Shall I go check if I can code ECU with VCDS? I think it not gonna do as probably unsupported...

So another visit tomorrow to dealer?
