Has anyone any experience of the Super Vag code scanner? I'm tempted to upgrade my old Autel as i cant get it to upgrade. All advice read but not all advice taken!

Thats good advice I took from this website some time back. I would like a modern portable scanner as I now need an extension lead to work the laptop in the car this is somewhat limiting if i go to scan a car

if VCDS mobile works with an android phone will it work with android tablet?

The intent is that VCDS-Mobile will work with any device that can work by a wifi connection using a web browser. At this point, I do not have a list of compatible devices nor limitations. I know that it has been tested on Android phones, iPhones, IPads, Windows phones, Nooks, and a whole host of other devices. So, my expectation is that Android tablets will be able to talk with our new device when it arrives in 2014.

VCDS has it's place. Can it read your SKC? Nope.

There are two versions of SuperVAG, one in a dark case and one in a light blue one, I'd look at the light blue, newer one. You can perform diagnostics, mileage adjustment if you change your cluster (it can often be cheaper in time to replace the cluster with a repaired one if your DIS is screwed) and they're self powered, rather than requiring a laptop.

Oh, and it's cheaper than a genuine copy of VCDS.

I am also looking to buy the SuperVAG Professional Super VAG K+CAN V4.8 OBD2 Code Scanner for VW Audi Ship from UK | eBay in the hope that I can read my SKC code and program a new key (this one):

Am I looking at the right thing, would this be able to do what I want and then be useful as a vehicle diagnostics tool if needed in the future?

By the time I've programmed one key it has paid for itself and saved me £50, so I reckon it's worth a try? Looks/sounds like just what I need! I have used diagnostic equipment before, on a TD5 Land Rover, and this looks to be a similar sort of thing. I have never programmed keys before though.
