Hello All, I have an issue with the above beasty, when accelerating and changing gears, the revs do not drop of when letting off throttle, in fact often they increase for a second or so, I have no faults showing on vagcom, have recently replaced the maf with no change to this issue, Had a good look around for air leaks, nothing obvious found (pcv system seems ok), Anyone else had this issue or aware of a possible cause? I am beginning to think throttle body.......

My old Megane done this - I believe it was a clutch pedal switch going from memory.

Yes I would say the clutch pedal switch is faulty. Its operation can be checked in measuring blocks.

just a refresh to tie things off, checked the clutch switch, no probs there, so had a minor brain wave and checked to see if the recirc valve was dumping, took the vac line off it and found you can suck/blow through it, Diaphragm has gone.........

fitted a nice shiney new alloy valve, problem solved. Not so easy a task on the Sharan as the valve is accessed from under the car (tray off) and in a fairly tight hole

bit of a rubbish spot for it, I think I'm going to relocate it up front to just before the throttle body.

Don't re-locate it, on the ones I have seen the ECU objects.
