    Hi,

    I am looking to purchase an A8 4.2TDI. The car will be around an 08-09 plate. Can anyone tell me when the facelift happened on the A8? I know it was around 08-09 but it would be helpful if i knew the exact month..

    It's definitely not that early - there was no facelift just back in 2004/5 where they changed from double to single grille.

    The new D3 was brought out in 2011.

    Chris, there was a change in the D2 around 08-09..I am 100% sure of that, just not sure of the month/year..

    rear lights, the boot had a small lip added, front foglamp housing, wing mirrors with indicators in.....I too have been looking at a 57/08 A8 and that's what I noticed...

    There are changes every year, but you'd have to be a real A8 geek to notice them.

    The big change was in about 2005 when they brought in the big front grill on the D3, then 2009 when they brought in the D4
