    Hi All,

I've searched the forum but cant find anything about bluefin (Superchips – petrol and diesel engine tuning, ECU remap software for maximum driving pleasure.) has anyone ever used these?

I have a 2009 MK6 Golf 2.0 (110), now my local electronics garage claim the following:

    Volkswagen Golf MK6 (2009>) 2.0 TDi CR 108 bhp

    ORIG MOD +/-
    Power (Bhp) 108 204 +96
    Torque (Lbft) 184 286 +102
Fuel Type Diesel Engine Capacity (cc) 1968
    eMotion Available

The very latest generation of VAG engine is the new Common Rail turbo diesel. With massively improved refinement and with multiple injection technology it is possible to achieve impressive power levels without detriment to emissions or reliability. The 108bhp is simply a detuned 138bhp with 100% identical components, the difference in peak figures is due to the 108bhp having a 5 speed box and the 138bhp having 6 speeds.

We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fuelling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.

Its the bit above, is the 110BHP really just a 140bhp with detuned ECU and only a 5speed gear box?!?!? My local Garage quoted £300 all in!

Well the 110 and the 140 share the same discplacment so moany of the components int erms of internals could be the same - they probably are to keep manufacturing parts variables to a minimum. whether the bolt on parts like fuel pumps, turbo etc etc are the saem only a check of the parts listings would confirm. 110bhp was 5 speed gearbox, 140bhp 6 speed.

As to your local garage claims - i'd suggest you find somewhere else , a 96bhp power hike is a complete joke

    2010 Golf Mk6 TDI105 SE - now departed, replaced with A3 Sportback

I searched the forum and got 204 results for Bluefin.

Were you after engine specific reviews or just general feedback on the devices?

    110 > +200bhp is insane.

The 2.0 GTD has a larger turbo and different injectors and that puts out 170bhp. A decent remap would bring you close to that.

Yeah sorry I mean bluefin specific to my model.

Well the garage use Celtic Tuning, I've checked on Celtic's site and they claim the same. Think I might ask if they can just boost it to about 150-155bhp to play it safe.

The main thing that got me was the 110 being the same as the 140. Might be why VW don't make it any more?

It's an ambitious claim, but they'd not be able to make it without any proof. If your local garage has a rolling road, I'd be more inclined to go down, have a chat and watch them at work.

The Bluefin option adds ~38bhp and ~64 torques which seems a lot more reasonable.

We've got a lot of tuners on board (see the link in my sig) and many of them offer deals to our members. Might be worth having a quick look through the directory to see if they can offer you something similar?

Cheers dude I'll take a look. As I hear bluefin can corrupt ECU now and again if power drops or has upload error etc...
