    Hello,

I changed the bulb in the passenger footwell light this morning. After gently prising the unit from under the dashboard (light still working at this point), I unplugged the holder power supply and then changed the bulb over and put back together again. For some reason the passenger and driver footwell lights are no longer working. I then put the old bulb back in and no joy. The glovebox light is OK, the door lights (red) are OK, but the under door lights (white) are also not working.

I checked the interior light fuse and the front door fuse, they are both fine.

Has anyone any thoughts as to why changing a bulb could have caused this and how i can go about fixing.

    Thank you very much

No idea, try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins or so and see if the lights come on again

Unless as you disconnected the light as they were on, you have caused a fault to be logged and this needs cleared before they will function again - I noticed this on my a6, the exact same scenario as you (albeit the number plate light), lights on, took bulb out, new unit in, wont work, fault logged, cleared and now working.

I have seen your posts on the light changes that you have made, they look great.

I have put a request in to the VCDS forum to see if there is anyone that would be able to help me scan for fault codes etc.

If not I will try our local friendly garage this week to see if they can sort the problem.

I will post back my findings

Managed to get the car scanned for faults, apparently there were 2 faults in one area, 1 in another. All have been cleared.

    Lights now work perfectly
