The DPF sensor is a known faulty part on the B8, mine went on my 2.0 143 at about 70k. The local dealership replaced it under warranty, if yours is the same problem, push for that too.

Get a fault code scan done and a forced regen.

No longer under warranty im afraid! I popped out in it this morning. Lack of power/no turbo and the EML light came on. Went to shop and on return journey the Flashing glowplug light had gone off and more power.

Edit: Its the emmisions control light that is now on

Have a look here Please Help dpf flashing glow plug and eng management light on?? for some useful info from Jon and Steve.

Now that your engine light is on, you definitely need a forced regen (if that even works as the level will be so high) and a fault code scan is a must.

Where abouts are you in the midlands?

It may just need a pressure sensor and a quick forced regen, don't panic yourself unnecessarily. I did two last Friday; one had about 30K left on the DPF but the other only about 2K so it is not always bad news. Ask the repairer to read off the ash mass value (not the soot loading) and on most you are allowed a max of 60g after which you need a new DPF as I don't believe it is possible to remove the ash with cleaning.

Right, took it to Audi dealer and it was manic:shock: Customer invasion on a Fri morn!!

Apparently no lights were on at all when they drove it into workshop. Turned out to be the DPF sensor was reading randomly between 0-25mb of pressure without the engine running. New sensor and a forced regen and all is well again. oh and £147. Could have been worse and it was sorted reasonably quickly considering how busy they were.

Great news that you got it sorted! Crasher was bang on with his clairvoyant diagnosis (as usual!) Did you ask your dealer about the ash content as he suggested? That will give you an idea of the remaining life of your DPF.

My dealership fixed this free of charge even though the car was outside warranty because it is a known faulty part....
