A6 Avant roof bars, C6 to C7

I have tried to fit the Audi made aluminium roof bars bought for my C6 model on to my C7 model, and have found the whilst the rear bar dimensionally fits " just", the front bar is set too wide, by around 30mm. I am supposing that I'm just going to have to eBay the existing ones and repurchase new - but before I do I just thought I'd ask the community if anyone has come across this annoyance and if anyone has discovered a solution the doesn't cost £200+ ??

3rd party bars, like Thule, are adjustable. Are you sure that the Audi ones aren't?

They look like they're " one position fits one". The attatching bolts to the end clamps are through holes ( not slots) and seems like there's no adjustment to be had. I'd like to be proven wrong though.

I paid around that at Halfords, from memory. You need three things, the bars, which are very cheap, the generic feet and the A6 Avant adaptors.

They were all in stock at my local medium sized Halfords.

And, surprisingly, Audi didn't change the bar profile from C6 to C7, so my Thule bars are still in use. I went for the standard square section bars as I rarely use them, and when I do it's with something big and bulky so aerodynamic issues with the bars hardly count! Quick and easy to fit/remove. Considerably cheaper than the Audi bars as well.
