New Car Smell

All new cars have it, and i'm sure that dealerships must apply something to the interior to give it 'that' smell.

I love that smell and would love to replicate it in my car.

Any ideas what it is........

No idea, must just be the freshness of the materials.

Befast Audi spray a fragrance in the airvents which smells nice - always forgot to ask what it was though.

I keep a Magic Tree Vanilla in the car and it suits fine - the jelly belly ones are nice too

It's the smell of all those phenols or whatnot chemicals leaching out of freshly moulded plastics, the ones that we will discover in 20 years' time have been giving us cancer.....

You may see a thin film build up on the inside of the windscreen over the first few months: that's stuff leaching out of the dash plastics.

My other half has an alternative approach, she leaves her mucking out boots in the car.......... the fresh smell of horse!!!!!!
She has been warned pending the new arrival

The dealer gave my 2008 an autoglym lifeshine treatment which smells pretty good, the vynal and rubber cleaner whivh you can use to clean dash plastics leather seats has a.citrus smell, the screen wash also has a fragrance, anyway the treament gave the car a newish smell.

Not quite new car smell, but I find that Zaino - Z-10 Leather in a Bottle - Zaino Europe Ltd leaves a new leather smell like nothing else I've ever tried. It also leave a nice matt finish.
