VW Corrosion Warranty

Anybody had to use on a B6?

I've got slightest starts of bubbling on drivers side sill. No damage defo from under paint. Never been painted there.

Sounds like the same problem as mine zinc inclusions.

Basically it wont be covered as its over 3yrs old. When it starts to rust then you will have a claim. I'm considering just get my door repainted at my cost.

You know guys, I'm going through this with my 53 plate for corrosion on the front wings , both of them, the car is otherwise in excellent condition with only 62k miles.
Try fighting your corner guys against the 12 year anti perforation warranty.................tell you something, do a simple google search and type in "vw corrosion" and there's threads all ove r the place over so many different forums , countries and continents.
VW's as solid and reliable cars seem to be based on advertising from 20 years ago.............the amount of claims they're trying to bodyswerve is unbelievable.....shocking!

Have you seen my thread. Yours should be covered no problem Vw are replacing them foc like the injectors.

Yes I've seen your thread thanks and yes VW should bereplacing them foc, but as many will tell you its still a fight as they try to bodyswerve their responsibililties.

Thats crap Jim. Things like this take the shine of VW. I thought I was buying decent brand :-(.

After reading a few threads on this you have a fight on your hands. I think I will just get mine done at my cost.

totally agree my friend, thats why I'm looking to take them to small claims court and get the judge's view on this.
I can't see that we're all wrong and VW is right, just don't see it and I hope to make them stand up and back their warranty 100%......hopefully a win might set a precedent for others who have the same issue.
Its a PITA but I hate to feel like I'm being done over.......

Body protection warranty

All current Volkswagen vehicles are fully protected during manufacture against through corrosion for 12 years from the date of first registration (6 years for the Sharan models).

The only preconditions are:

• The defect must be reported to a member of the Volkswagen Authorised Network as soon as it is discovered and within the warranty period.
• The perforation must not have been caused originally by damage, neglect, insufficient care or maintenance or by external rusting.
• A member of the Volkswagen Authorised Network must be advised about any rusting as soon as it is found.
• All body repairs will be carried out promptly in accordance with the manufacturer's specification and procedures, using only approved parts and materials, so the original level of anti-corrosion protection is maintained.

Where to Find Case Law?
Many public libraries have good legal sections containing text books on different areas of the law, as well as sets of legal reports which contain transcripts of cases. If a text book mentions a case that appears to support the claim, the case can be photocopied from a book of law reports.

The website of Her Majesty’s Court Service has links to sites from which transcripts of judgments can be downloaded. Sometimes putting the name of a case into an internet search engine will also produce a copy of the transcript.

Perhaps this is a good place to start? But, from what I've briefly read, the faults referred to are not "through". But they should still be reported in case they
become "through"!

I've had a new Honda for a couple of days this past week just to try it out, and upon checking the details of their warranty, for body/paint etc it seems far more detailed than VW. They state 3 years for surface corrosion, 10 years for chassis corrosion, and 12 years for structural corrosion http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/y...rcar/warranty/ , rather than one overall corrosion protection warranty that VW give. As much of the new Honda is plastic they should be pretty free from bodywork warranty claims.
