Hi, i have a problem with both my front doors on my 2002 audi a6 1.9tdi 130bhp in that they seem not to close shut as much as i think they should, because i can push the doors at the top of the doors around the handle area and the doors can go another little bit, also when the doors were closed the top part of the door, at the bottom of the window was not level with the back door when looking down the side of the car, the front doors always stick out a bit about 3-4mm at the top and you can hear wind noise. i have checked common problems like windows dropping and they are fine, also all rubber seals are fine. i ended up moving the door catch on the b -pillar in a few mm and it has helped the wind noise and lines up nicely at the top of the door, but now i have the bottom of the door in to much can anyone tell me what might be another way of adjusting the alighnment of these doors, the front hinges dont have any play and they dont sag down. is there any other adjustment that can adjust the front hinges. any thoughts welcome, cheers billy g.

    Hi

If you remove the door cover you will see that the whole window frame is held into the door structure by 4 torx bolts. Some of these are fixed through aluminium wedges which can be slid around and ajusted. Loosen all four of these slightly and this will give you a surprising amount of adjustibility as regards the door frame. once happy with the position, just tighten them all up.
    Cheers

Dozy's description is how to adjust the window assembly on the door. If your door is flush at the top, but too far in at the bottom, it looks like you need to adjust it at the hinges on the A pillar.

There are 2 bolts which hold the door onto the hinge - these are used to align the door with the body contour. The 2 bolts holding the hinge onto the body are used to align the door longitudinally. Basically, the method is to slacken the bolts, move the door slightly, then retighten the bolts.
