    Hi

We have recently had our car scanned again by Mark, and we keep on getting a returning fault and wondering if anyone knows what it will take to fix this before taking the car to Audi and having to pay them nearly £100 just to check it out.

When I turn the heat up the car warms up nicely inside and also when on cool it seems to blow cold also, and there is no MIL light on. We are driving the car to Salou in the summer so hopefully will have aircon working ok lol

With the upmost respect, if the car has no warnining lights on the dash and you cannot find ANY problems with the car, you deserve to pay Audi £100 to look at it. Matey honestly, why the hell are you chasing s fault code that is not causing any problems ? A glitch in the Matrix ?

Thanks for the reply, and the reason I am chasing it is to try and get as much info as possible as not sure what the defect should be with this fault and I thought this forum was the place to ask questions, but obviously not lol.

We are not getting really hot weather just now so unsure if the aircon is working to full capacity with this fault as the cold air might be coming in from outside and I grudge giving Audi £100 just to look at a car, sooner some of these dealers start having financial difficulties the better and perhaps costs may get back to sensible levels instead of thinking we are main dealers and like to rip people off.

I dont mean to be unhelpfull but I do this for a living day in, day out. Watching people having to spend £100s or even £1000s of their hard earned cash that most people dont even have to spare to pay for expensive parts. To see someone chasing a fault code that has absolutly no meaning or will cause no trouble but simply because their wee buddy has a copy of VCDS and it says there is a fault there. Gets on my nerves just. Im a friendly, helpfull guy really but just not when it comes to ( in my eyes ) silly weekend mechanics trying to solve trouble codes. My humble appologies for being a ******* Rant over

The fact that code is shown as being Intermittent means that at the time of the scan, the fault was no longer present - the fault happened at some point and was not present at the time of the scan... Clear the code and in a few weeks scan to see if it returns. If it does and you notice a problem with the car, take it to have it serviced... I do not believe you have a major worry here.
