Audi recall. Do I have the faulty injectors?

Hi all

I have a recall letter from Audi UK to offer a free precautionary check of my injectors. I called Audi uk and they say that if the car is fitted with the faulty injectors they will replace them. I know they are acting after pressure from VOSA. Is there any way I can check if mine has the faulty injectors ? would it be possible to identify via engine numbers which vehicles had them fitted?
Also does anyone know what are they being replaced with and do they solve the problem entirely?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Is this a 170ps 2.0 diesel or some other?
After a8 tech brought the workshop action to my attention in a previous thread I phoned my local dealer with my vehicle details and they could see from their system that my car had this particular workshop action outstanding. There was no request to see the vehicle before hand they just needed the reg number or VIN. Perhaps there are some vehicles outside of the known affected range that need a physical inspection to clarify whether they have the faulty injectors, if it's a free check why worry, let them check it?
Once they have replaced problem injectors the known issue will be resolved but it doesn't guarantee that a new one will never fail.

I had mine replaced free by Audi last year after contacting vosa. I received a letter about the recall before Xmas, the only way they can be sure which injectors are fitted is by looking at the part numbers on them. The local dealership couldn't confirm if mine had been fitted with the newer type so the car went in last week to be checked. Each time I've had a free courtesy car for the day so I can't see any reason not to get yours checked. You've nothing to lose.

A friend bought a b7 last week and on the way to work on Thursday the car cutout on rhe motorway. I advised him to contact Audi with his car details. His car was 1 of those affected. They arranged for the work to be carried out the next day at his local dealer. Now he is 1 happy Audi owner..

I am going to take it in to Audi in Inverness . I was more interested in how successful the new type injectors are as I really like the car and I will be happy to keep it so long as this recall resolves any issues

Which cars does this refer to? I have a 2005 3.0tdi A4 quattro. would this be covered under the 'recall' ?

It's only the 2.0 tdi 170 engine which is affected as far as I am aware.

I'm feeling a bit billy-no-mates as I've not had a recall letter but have a 2007 2.0tdi 170???

I rang Audi Friday, booked it in for today (no letter), all 4 changed, rocker cover gasket changed, FOC, car definately has a smoother power delivery now.
