When I got my first 2.0TDi in 2005 (after driving a turbo petrol 1.8T previously) I found I was stalling the darned thing all the time - it was rather embarrassing! It was just me being a muppet, though - not used to the differences in driving the TDi. Within a few weeks I got past it, and didn't get the same issues when I got my new car in 2009.

Having said all that, you're most likely not a driving muppet like me, and it's quite possible your car may have a fault. You might consider finding a forum member nearby with VCDS and asking if they would scan the car for you to check.

    Cheers!

To be honest it could be just the driving behaviour. I had driven a 2.0td for two and half years before i bought 2.0d a6 and even though the power and performance of both the cars is similar the a6 tends to stall more. I found it to be less forgiving when you are doing slower speed in higher gears as it would stall where as in my previous experience my old car would go just fine. As i was used to that behaviour I found to be stalling this car more often and this car does stall a bit more violently than the last one as well. Feels like something hitting you when it stalls. Lil un almost crapped her pants when it happened with her on the back seat. Hope its no other issue with your motor mate.

+1 to what the others said. I went from a 2.0tfsi auto Passat and I was stalling all the time. I still am!

Coolraj is on the money mate.......I've driven deisels for nearly 20 years and covered a million miles, got my a6 and eyp, stalled it constantly!
As I said Coolraj is bang on with his comments!

I got mine remapped partly because of this issue ( now resolved ) and partly because I wanted More power ayways!
You either need to look at remapping or give it plenty more revs in first and be careful when driving slowly in higher gears at slow speeds.
