    Hi I have a Q5 with MMI 3G Navigation.

I have read elsewhere that the Bluetooth and phone system is installed in all of these but not turned on or activated unless that option was paid for.

Can anyone tell me if this is true?

If it is correct, how do I go about activating it without paying lots of money to the main dealer?

Grateful in advance for any help.

    Thanks

    Dave.

you need to retro fit the mic and then enable the 5f control unit then adapt the bt

or pay some one to do it for you

the dealer will not touch this at all and unlikely they even no it can be done but depending on the mmi 3g version use the kufatec kit for laymen and this will work for you but you still need vcds to enable 5f http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/produc...oth-Only-.html

if none of this makes sense pay some one who knows as messing around with 5f control units is not for forum fiddlers and vcds tweekers

Bluetooth activated when MMI 3g installed

In the Audi MMI Navigation System and built-3g you activate the Bluetooth option.
Here are two activities are necessary:

    • Unlock the hidden menu of the MMI 3G and activation of Bluetooth
    • Coding / adaptation of the infotainment control unit with respect to Bluetooth Module

    The following coding is used:

    • Unlock the hidden menu of the MMI 3G and activate the Bluetooth

    1. STG 5F (infotainment) select
    2. STG adjustment -> Function 10
    3. Channel number 06
    4. New to this set: 1
    5. The menu can be hidden with the shortcut setup + Car (both keys together) open, where you must first press the Setup button.
    6. Now, in the Hidden menu under Diagnostics -> settings point to the 'Phone settings misc' adjust accordingly:
    7. From: no BT -> BT

    1. MMI reset
(Press and hold down the button -1 - (setup), the confirmation button -2 - and the navigation key -3 -. The same MMI then shuts down and restarts lasts about 60 seconds.)

    • Coding / adaptation of the infotainment control unit with respect to Bluetooth Module
