    Hi All

Just thought I would ask my local dealer out here in Sweden about changing the tiptronic gearbox oil in my Allroad .................... they've quoted me 1200 pounds.. yes thats correct 1200 GBP.
So after picking myself up from the floor I thought I would ask you guys about prices in dear ol blighty, as it could be worth a trip?

    Cheers

In Ireland my local mechanic charges €200 to do this job and he had all the equipment to reset the box too. I believe it costs £250-300 in the UK to have this done by a Audi Dealer

    Crazy price in Sweden

Initial filling 9.8 ltr. 09L Oil change Fluid change interval (if required) → Maintenance tables
Fluid change after repair (e.g. if oil pan has been removed): approx. 8 litres

also there is a modified oil and gearbox flash update for shift issues part number of the oil blue, G 055 162 A

standard oil and modified oil are both expensive (£25 per litre approx) per litre I would also recommend the oil pan filter replaced and the coolant replaced with G12 +++ to reduce any possible contamination of glycol

some may be confusing the zf tip box with multitronic which is far less in cost to change the oil and has less capacity with a 40,000 service life change

zf has no real life service interval for oil change unlike multi but I would advise it around 80,000 miles

    Hi A8,

Thanks for your reply, I know you must have vast knowledge on this type of subject so I will now show as much as possible the breakdown I received from my local dealer, unfortunately it's in Swedish but I will translate as best I can.

    37551900 ATF pan removal/replacement £230

    37025550 ATF oil + filter change £180

    0150000 GF/Guided operation/adjustments/Basic settings £100

    G 060162A2 ATF oil 9.0lt @ £37.00 £333

    09L321371A Seal £36

    09L325429 Filter/sieve £37

    01V321376 Screw £7.0

    01V321379 Seal £1.8

    E07 Test drive £0.0

    Consumables £36

    VAT @ 25% (in Sweden) £243

    TOTAL £1216

Maybe the numbers will mean something to you or they are a Swedish thing.

Does the price seem about right or would it be worth a trip back to blighty to have it done?

they do indeed and is the correct process and billing to the oil change and filter plus adaptive basic setting road test

unlike the other posts on this thread the dealer is correct and costing is also correct

Thats impressive and I guess you wont find that v much cheaper anywhere at a dealers. How many miles on yours ?I was told the box is sealed for life on my A4 but at 115k had the oil drained and replaced with 5 ltrs at Audi for £159 just to see and it seems smoother. The old oil was black and research showed that the suppliers of the boxes recommended oil changes and thats why there is a filler plug!

At my local Audi dealer I had the tiptronic fluid changed.

5 lit fluid from Ravenol (same spec as OEM) €40.00
Filter and pan with seals from Audi €80.00
Labour work one hour €50.00 (total 8 hours as the temperature of the gearbox had to cool down)

It was done at 135k kms and feels smoother. I was advised to change the oil again sooner in about 60k kms.
