DSG Gearbox Problem

I have just bought a 2003 Audi TT. 3.2 V6 engine and with DSG gearbox. Car has done 78k miles and has full Audi/Bosch service history. When moving off from a junction/roundabout there is a delay in selecting a gear. This means that the car initially travels very slowly so it's a bit of a worry when trying to join fast moving traffic. Been reading about problems with the mechatronic unit. Is this a symptom of a defective unit? I am 4th owner so doubt if there is a warranty claim here. Any help or advice gratefully received

you need to get a diag test done first to eliminate electrical fault
then poss gearbox oil change

Thanks for the advice. Car booked in next week. Been rading abou the mechatronic unit a lot. GULP! If this is the problem can it be refurbished. A local Audi specialist told me it could cost £2000!! BTW the car has only done 72k miles. Cheers

personally i think you are being a bit to expecting with the DSG gearbox, it does take a slight second from lifting your foot to selecting a gear to then respond. it goes into full neutral when stood still with foot on brake.

you just need a bit more experience driving her
