    Hi,

I recently had a minor accident where the front grille and head lights are broken. I was thinking to change the look of the car by fitting either Gti or the Jetta bumper/Grille/sideskirts, rear bumper valance on it and probs Xenon headlamps (may be that of R32 style). Couple of a questions:
Which bumper will be best i.e. GTi or the Jetta one?
Does the bumper fits on the existing fitting?
Does the rear bumper valance fits on the normal bumper without any modifications? OR its worth buying a complete new Gti bumper?
Do the R32 stype headlamps fit on standard golf?
Finally, the fog lights will it need wiring or the existing wiring could be used?

and in general is it worth making these changes to the car bearing in mind that the existing bumper is not broken just few scratches etc which the local garage said are fixable. Also if anyone have any suggesstion where I can get the parts with reasonable price!!!

    Please let me know.

    Many thanks
    Muz

Have search around. the GTI/newer front bumper requires a different front cross member. but some have modified the from to fit over the standard crossmember. I think the tow hook is the issue. GTI/Jetta are the same bar look

    hope that helps

After alot of research nothing helped. The confusion is there. There are a number of GTi look bumbers available which are made by various different companies to fit on a standard MK5 Golf, however I still dont know whether a OEM MK5 GTi bumper will fit on the standard golf? Or I will need to modify some parts if yes then what parts/bits?

Second question about fitting Xenon headlamps do I just swap the headlamps or it needs more stuff e.g. wiring, power relays etc?

    Please explain.

    Many thanks,

OK, not keen on doing that. Its all cutting the original thing and not safe enough. Has anyone got any experience in upgrading their car with the GTi Replica bumpers made by www.ppcgb.com ?? Their complete kit is £299 which includes front complete bumper, side skirts and the rear bumper valance. I have a two door golf and their skirts are only for 5 doors which is a shame. I have been intouch with the company and they offered me the front and rear bumper kit for £252 and i buy the skirts myself OR they will buy the skirts and the whole kit will cost £352. Anyone ever used this before then please let me know your thoughts about the kit i.e. quality and fit etc.

    Few questions in my mind:

    1. How easy it is to install Fog lamps? Do I have to wire it all up OR their are wires already in place?
    2. What will be the cheapest way or making the rear exhaust as in GTi?
    3. Worth changing the headlamps with Xenon or Shall I go for the usual GTi Lamps i.e. the black inserts?

Also if anyone know any links where I can get good skirts lamps etc feel free to recommend me a few place.

    Many thanks,
