Door dent repair cost

Hi there,

In need of some desperate advice. I accidentally dented a passat passenger door on someone's company car. Relatively new car, 60 number plate. I'm trying to avoid using my insurance claim. Does anyone know how much it might cost me? And what is the best way to deal with the situation?
Will be grateful for any advice. It's my first time having an accident.

If the dent is small and the paint layer isn't damaged, try Dent Devils, Chips Away, or similar.

Actually the passat car is the victim's company car. And the dent is fairly big and looks like needs some painting done as well. Any estimate of the price?

In that case, you'll probably be looking a a new door skin + painting, which will be easily £300 +

Also, even if you don't get your insurance company involved, you should by law inform them.

I didn't think newer cars like the passat had door skins as such. I remember my old cavalier did, which was handy for things like this, however I'm sure that more recent cars don't...

It all depends on how bad the damage is. if the dent is larger than a tennis ball and is in a difficult position to get to then it would have to be a body shop. But if its smaller then a mobile service should be able to fix it. A basic cost from a body shop would be around £300 ish and a mobile service £150 ish.

Best thing to do would be to find a mobile service that you can email them a pic of the damage for a quote try CAR BODY REPAIR Service Mobile in HERTFORDSHIRE ESSEX not sure if they cover your area but will give you a quote anyway.

If the paint is broken it will need proper bodyshop airgun work

£300 is a good quote but I think if it's a skin and paint you will be looking at closer to £500, back street shops are either gems or nightmares so be careful with those or you will have a two tone car.
