My usual tack for the no blow situation is to buy flowers, chocolates and ply with alcohol, but I have a feeling that it won't help in your case

By way of apology, a bump - and a serious suggestion - - assuming that you have checked all fuses (entirely possible that the blower motor has its own fuse, separate to its controls?), could it be the resistor pack that has failed?

Hopefully someone like Martin or Crasher will be along soon to give you the right info (and probably to have a good giggle at me stabbing in the dark)

I have checked the blower motor/fan by wiring it direct and all is well so the resistor could well be the culprit, anyone know how to change it?

Usually when the resistor pack fails, the blower still works on speed 4 (max).
It is easy to change. Look up under passenger footwell dash. Near pollen filter. It has a bunch of wires and a plug connected to it.

I think (and this is where you really need to wait for confirmation from someone like Martin or Crasher before pulling your car apart), it lives behind the ventilation controls in the centre console. Shouldn't be too arduous to swap out once you get in there, but I've never done it on this car so can't tell you for sure.

I'm about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike really, sorry.
