something i picked up from the 2012 A5 is the huge reduction in CO2 emmissions for company car drivers

The current 170TDI is rated at 144g/km (BIK 21%) where as the 177TDI A5 Sportback is now 122g/km (BIK 18%)

Even the 3.0TDI Quattro Stronic only puts out 149g/km (BIK 22%) on the new A5 sportback v 179g/km (BIK 28%) on the A4

On a 40k 3.0 tdi quattro that will reduce the annual company car tax from £4800 to £3520 for a 40% tax payer.
A 36k 2.0 177TDI reduces from £3024 to £2592


So its worth factoring in if you are thinking of changing your company car (or even buying an A5 over an A4 if you can't wait!)

One worry for me is that the 2.0 TDI Quattro seems to have disappeared off the list which is concerning me.........

it also looks like the rather mean spec on A5's (eg single zone climate, no bluetooth, no auto-lights/wipers etc) has been upgraded to the same as the A4. You can even get 3 seats in the back (albeit at extra cost!)

Just got the new Q3 brochure in the post today - they do a 2.0 TDI 177PS (the new engine) with quattro AND automatic....why didn't they do that for the A4? I wanted an auto with quattro diesel but wasn't willing to pay the extra for the 3.0 TDI...why do they offer in other models?

It puts out 152g/km on the A6 and only 149g/km (in 245PS form) in the A5 so they can probably get it down to 140g/km in detuned mode in the A4/A5
