I replaced the OSF wheel bearing 9 months (12k) ago with a Topran item, I'm convinced it's this wheel again that's whining. Does anyone have any comments on Topran quality.
Wheel alignment is fine, tyres (same for 12k) are wearing evenly

Topran products are often very poor quality in my experience.

I've heard numerous times, always buy genuine vag wheel bearings.

when i did the other side (NSF) a few months later I got a genuine one from TPS and it was only maybe £5 more. Once that one was changed i then had the appearance of a whine from the original OSF one i'd changed. grrrrr!

I don’t use genuine very often as they are very expensive but I am very fussy about the make of bearings I fit.

"Topran" - is this a reputable worldwide bearing manufacturer or a cheap chinese copy ? I've never heard of them before. Best to stick with proven quality manufacturers like INA , SKF , NSK etc.
Considering the time and effort to change a wheel bearing it's foolish to use anything else.

Topran is a trademark brand name for Hans Pries of Germany, they buy in parts and put them in their own boxes. Sometimes what thy supply is great quality, at other times it is not, you can never be sure what you are going to get.
