Econ mode will not turn off

I have recently bought an Audi A4 TDI SE 1.9 first registered in December 2002 and cannot get the climate control out of Econ mode. Pressing Econ, Auto or any other combination of buttons does not remove the red light from the Econ button?

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks very much.

Believe can be a number of things worst case compressor, or clutch on compressor, best case no gas.

Know this only from my research on other forums as I have the same problem - Have you cured yours now?

No, still the same problem!

I have booked the car in to an Audi garage in a couple of weeks for a diagnostic test.

Have just had diagnosed mine has come up as the high pressure switch @ £35.00 or so. Good luck with yours

This issue is now resolved.

Needed a replacement pressure sensor, £100 fitted by an Audi dealer.

My aircon was getting warmer so at 5 years old I got it regased. That worked for a day then it just blew warm and climate panel flashed on switch on. The evaporator unit (inside the car) had ruptured and lost the gas. Got a replacement from German and Sweedish for £120, VAGCOM for £160, and a weekends work got it fitted. Regassed and has worked ace eversince.

my econ led does not go off, my compressor is ok, compressor clutch is ok, pressure switch is ok and my pressure sensor is also ok. wht do i do now, plssss somebody help me.

Hi All
I have the same prob on my 2003 S3 no matter weather the econ light on or off always the same (warm air)

Please could u tell me where to find the pressure switch would help alot

High this is the same kind of problem I have had I have been advised to get the gas checked then get the fault codes read if the gas level is ok. The difference with mine is that sometimes the econ button comes on its own then will not turn off and other times system works fine. On my travels investigating this I found a company who can reconidition air con controls for around £100+ p.p. or test for @ £30+p.p. they are called B.B.A. reman based ingillingham kent has anyone used them? When mine is fixed I will post what was needed good luck all!!
