    Hi

Just wondering if anyone can help?
I have a 2008 A6 and the AF auto retune feature of the radio's RDS does not seem to work. If I go out of a signal area, I have to manually retune, even though the station is broadcasting on a much stronger signal. I can see the other frequencies in the station list on the MMI, but the radio will just not retune!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Dave

Hi, I am an A6 newbie (upgraded from A4) and now supposedly grown up.

I have a 14 month old A6 S-line - fantastic car but a minor gripe compared to my A4 is exactly as described above - i.e. radio does not like retuning to a strong signal. Just completed a 430 mile round trip today and that is my only complaint.

Anyone else had this problem and are there any solutions??

    Many thanks

(PS must change my signature when I can work out how to!)

    Thanks Chris,
Yes Alt Freq was turned on.....however during a 430 mile trip from Essex to Manchester and back yesterday I had to keep manually retuning. In my previous car (2008 A4 S-line) the RDS just followed the stations seamlessly - also in the A4, the stations which were being received showed on the display in orange whilst those for which a signal wasn't being received were shown in white (and fainter). My A4 had the RNS-E unit.

Maybe the A6 MMI system is cruder (which I find difficult to believe) or maybe it just doesn't pickup up FM signals as well?? I wasn't listening to anything unusual, just the standard Radio 2 and Radio 4..... My A6 has the HDD Sat Nav unit if that makes any difference.

Would appreciate any further thoughts from anyone. My only gripe on an otherwise excellent car....(oh apart from the dreadful OEM Pirelli P Zero Rossos which will be changed at the earliest opportunity!)

    Many thanks
    John
