Got a facelift quattro and want to fit the S4 brakes to it, does anyone know if it's a straight swap or whether I need to change the upright too.

AFAIK looking at ETKA, you shouldnt have to change the uprights as both the S4 & AJL engined Quattro's have the 82mm Wheel Bearing housings vs the 75mm housings of lesser models. Hopefully somebody can confirm this.

I was chatting with the a guy from my local audi specialist and he was checking numbers for me and it does have the 82mm housing but the part numbers were different between the A4 and S4 (iirc it was an extra letter at the end of the part number)

the caliper mounting holes are spaced differently so the s4 brakes wont bolt on
you would need uprights but the quattro outer cv's will fit (they do on my 1.8tq not sure about others)

the calipers are also very wide so might not clear some alloy wheels

the other alternative is audi TT/S3 caliper carriers which bolt straight on and allow 312mm discs to be used with original calipers
