I'm thinking of the parking sensor for a while as visibility in the back of the passat is not to good.I've found this on the internet http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/Veh...g-Dynamics-PD1 ,has anyone tried it? seems a lot more simple as you don't have to drill the bumper.Cheers for any advice

I have no experience of the product mentioned, but I do have rear parking sensors (badged by VW, but actually made by Cobra) which I fitted myself.

If you're nervous about drilling holes in your bumper, then the Parking Dynamics system may be attractive. however, from the description of the product I'm not sure that the installation would actually be any quicker. You will have to remove the bumper (large and unwieldy) to fit the PD sensor strip. Although you have to drill 4 holes to fit the more common ultrasonic sensors, you don't need to remove the bumper. Otherwise, the installation work for the the two types of system will be similar.

    Just my two pennyworth....

I masked my bumper off and drilled the holes. Was easy as! Total instal was about 2 hours tops and it makes a huge difference.

This is the picture I took when I installed mine. Mark the masking tape with a pencil so you can have the exact place to drill the holes. Measure twice drill once! Then using a coat hanger fed the cable through the rubber grommet into the boot. Easy!

If, despite g-black's comprehensive instructions, you still don't want to drill, get some Meta Targa sensors. The holder simply fits behind the number plate, the wire goes through the grommet that g-black refers to, connect it to the reverse light wire and that's it. They work surprisingly well, I know, I've got some.

A friend of mine fitted that type (not sure if exactly the same) to his Boxter as he didn't want to drill the bumper, he reckons they are very good and has since fitted them to his sisters car and a mates.

I use these and they work fine http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Meta-Number-Pl...item483de35710
