A3 2007 symphony stereo not working

Suddenly, the Symphony stereo in our A3 2007 2.0TDi is not working. There is no power to the unit, so won't switch on or eject a disc. The unit doesn't light up at all with the lights/ignition on either.

I've have checked fuses F8 & F18 in the engine bay for the sound system and the amp and they are both good. I have removed both fuses and re-inserted them, to no avail.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

you might find the fuse on the back of the unit has blown.before removing the head unit
try disconnecting the car battery for 10mins to force a system reset.

Tried the battery force reset to no avail and have also removed the head unit to find the fuse was all good. Replaced it to be certain, to no avail.

Apparently the unit came on briefly the other day...........if you can work that one out, I'm all ears!!!

I am.also.having the same.problem. No power.to stock or after market head unit. I really need some help . I checked the fuses.and still dead. Any ideas of what wires i should check?

Crikey, that was a while ago....it was definitely something in the unit, quite possibly a fuse or other component. I took it to a fix it at home guy and it cost not a lot £20 or £30, nothing major. The hardest bit is finding the fix it guy. Consider a back street hifi outfit, they might do it too. Good luck
