    Hi all,

Looking at purchasing this cruise control unit for a 02 B6 A4 AVJ 1.8T.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-A4-8E-A6-...item53e1f37654

Question I have is how do I know if I need to purchase the extra controller for 165 pounds as stated in note below. Is there an easy way to check this?

    Thanks..

Please note: On some model's with a Lowline 'On Board Computer' the Steering controller modules (Part Numbers: 8E0953549F, 8E0953549S) cannot accept the Cruise Control coding, if this is the case a new controller will be required which we can supply at an extra £165.

there is a DIS and cruise retrofit thread that has all the info.
A scan with VCDS will give you your SCCM part No. or remove the steering wheel
and look at the No. on the SCCM

Do you know if there is any other advantage to paying for the extra controller.

I believe the extra controller also supports the multi-function steering wheel. Which is ugly. But I wouldn't give it up because it's brilliant. But ugly.

The OP still needs a new SCCM to have cruise regardless if its purchased via a dealer on eBay or by visiting your local Audi Dealer

A bit more info on controllers required; http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...Control_Module

    Luckily my 2006 S4 has a 'Q' Highline version

cruise switch £30 from dealer or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cruise-Con...#ht_900wt_1187
    steering control unit http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...nkw=8E0953549q
    lower cowling from dealer £25
also replace the clutch switch as a precaution £12 from dealer (they tend to fail without fault code or any running problems so fit a new one)

    Hi,
Thanks to all for contributions to an interesting thread. Is this modification to add cruise control also possible on A4 B8 (2009) vehicles? The switch looks identical but does the vehicle allow this change to be made?

Those prices are a little out of date or you've not included VAT

The 2009 A4 B8 uses a combined indicator & wiper stalk, so the B7 kit will not fit.
VW Teesside in Saltburn supply new A4 B8 cruise kits for around £200 in parts & £60 fitting.
