Buttons in the roof

There are 3 buttons in the roof of my Golf (beside the roof lighting) and I don't know what they do (I've had a look in the manual and can't find any reference to them).

One has a spanner symbol on it.
One has a star.
And I can't remember the other one at the moment (I'm in work so I can't check).

I remember the salesman at the hand-over saying one was for break-down assistance (I'm assuming this is the spanner!).

I don't want to do a Dougal from Father Ted and start pressing buttons willy-nilly either (although I have been tempted a few times).

Anybody got any ideas?

I've pressed 'em all, one of 'em works and dials a 0800 number 'cause I get a message then telling me that 0800's aren't free and to redial without the '0'!

Star button, should be for voice activation on RNS510.. I cant get this to work... hoping someone knows the VCDS coding for it...

Dials using what? my mobile if it's connected via bluetooth? Or is there another mechanism?

yes.. you have to have the bluetooth module, and then its via your mobile...

a bit off topic, but when I am in my car and I use google apps (on iphone 4), click on the googlemail icon, my radio mutes, and the car "dials" voicemail (but it doesnt really cos the phone doesnt do anything).... its a silent call for 14 seconds and then hangs up...

The information about those three buttons is in the Operating Manual for mobile telephone provision, not the Owners's Manual. Page 8 in my copy. HTH.
