    Hi

    I just bought a 2007 A6 S Line Le Mans Edition.

I'm having a few probs with the sat nav and a few sites recommended vwaudiforums.

When I turn on the sat nav it shows my position as France on the screen even though I'm in the UK. There seems to be a destination already in cos when I press the main centre button it starts to navigate back to Ireland?? I have tried to delete the destination but that didn't work. I also noticed that the unit has 0 satellite connections.

As the car is new to me i haven't a clue what the prob is or
how to fix it. It's also ourside the warranty so I
Would like to try and fix it without the need if Audi if possible. So I
Hope you guys can help shed some light!?

    Thanks

It sounds like it's in demo mode? Go to nav then hit setup and see if demo mode is enabled. It could also be the drive itself or the GPS aerial.

    Saloon or avant?

    Welcome along

    Hi guys

Thanks for the replies. I checked and the unit isn't in demo mode. Also can confirm that it's receiving 0 satellites.

It's weird as while it shows the car being in France when u start driving on a road the nav arrow moves along some French road like it's working!!

I will try a reset in the morning and will take some pics on the phone

Anyway appreciate your help with this

No problem, as A8 says, try a reset and see what happens.

    Hi Guys

I firstly checked to make sure it wasn’t in demo mode, which it isn’t. I then tried the reset which didn’t work as the unit is still showing as being in France! I also still get 0 satellites being received. I have uploaded some pics to show you as it is driving me nuts!

I did noticed that when the map is showing and I click the bottom left soft button (Nav-Info) the nice Audi lady says in ENGLISH "Navigation not active" Whats this mean?

I went into the boot to check the drive and disc. When you press eject the system spits out the disc about 90% of the way, but you then have to really pull hard to get it out. The same thing applies when you put it back in. I cleaned the disc but it didnt help either.

I think there must be something wrong with the nav dvd drive, however surely even if the disc doesn’t work the system should at least pic your location up and maybe display you on some blank piece of ground??

Im just a bit worried as I just bought the car and the guy who sold it was a private dealer who wasn’t very technical and doesn’t know what the problem is.

Any more things i could try?

That's a weird one now. The Nav-info is meant to say that, just means you have no route planned. Mine does it and I'm sure everyone elses does. Could be a dodgy DVD drive, sounds like it. Can you get access to VCDS to get codes read?

Maybe you could move to France and then your problems would be solved

A8 - If there was a fault with the drive would it show up on the scan?

Just wondered because the Avants have a problem where the rear washer leaks and drowns the electrics in that area with water and causes faults.

What happens if you plan a route?

If i plan a route it starts the journey from France lol! I am heading to the south of france in a few weeks, but dont really want to take the car on the plane as Ryanair would charge an arm and a leg for the seat lol!!

What is the VCDS? Sorry for being a nob but this is new to me.

If the drive is ******, would it stop the system from picking up any satellites?? I thought the drive just read the maps and put a road underneath where the gps said u were
