Just hit 13000 miles and the fronts are down to the wear indicators which at £250 a corner will be the last time I have the Pirelli's on my car. My last B8 covered more than twice that mileage on Conti Sport Contact and had at least 2k left when I chopped it in. Anyone else suffered low miles on Pirelli?

My Dunlops have 55% left at 6.5k miles.

Not as good as I was hoping but then more of it has been local miles and hence lots of shunting in and out of the parking places, our drive etc.

No need to change that at the wear indicators.

1.6mm for full circumference and 3/4 width unbroken. Not that I would recommend you run almost bald tyres in Winter!

I have a tyre cutter from when I used to race bikes, I also used to recut my car tyres.
Used to buy tyres with just straight lines like Contis. Then they are easier to cut. Trouble is all the snipes wear away and you are left with a tyre that looks like a cut slick or F1 tyre

Switched to dunlop sp sport 01s (front only at the mo)
After being unimpressed with the original Michelin primacy HP's. Like you, down to the wear bars at 13.5k miles.

So far so good, Just as quiet, confident handling and better braking so far. Provided they keep this up they only have to beat 13.5k to illustrate a genuine saving of £60/80 per wheel.

I've had the same experience - Pzeros just seem to wear out very quickly, but they grip the road like leeches. Softer tyres = better grip but faster wear.

Still wondering what tyres theyre gonna put on the new A4. Hoping for conti's!
