Hello everbody, I have a r plate polo, eng type apq, it runs for a couple of seconds then dies out, code reader says ecu blocked. so to me sounds like immobilizer to me, and the end of the day it's an old car and a second vehicle and havn,t got the resources to spend a fortune, so was wondering if there is away of fixing it reasonably or getting around it, checked supplys to ecu and immo box , can't check reader coil with the gear i've got, could i go to scrappys and find matching key and immo box, coil and would it run or do i need a matching ecu too, i'm a sparky but i do houses! not cars so please excuse my ignorance.

scrappy idea is best you will need ecu and immobilizer ecu which is up under dash right hand side just follow the wire from the reader coil you will also need keys and ignition barrell

Havn't managed to find a scrappy locally yet with the same engine/ecu yet, so was looking around on web and decided to try a self learning immobilizer emulator, alot of guys doing retro engine fits seem to speek highly of them, anyway recieved one the other day and , just wonderd if anyone has fitted them and has any experience with them? only 3 wires to solder, ign pos and earth and wire to k-line, o.k so chopped off the immo box loom with plenty to spare to solder back later if need be, picked up supply from immo loom leaving me with two wires, according to some pictures i found one is k-line white/yellow and one is w-line gey/white, what do these do?? is one diagnostics to ecu and one for the immo code? do they join? noticed the grey/white goes to diagnostic socket. Joined code wirefrom emulator to white/yellow which according to immo box plug pic i found is correct, but it doesn't work, got a supply led on emulator but code led is flashing, which i think means there is no comms with ecu, light is suposed to come on then go out..checked pin out of ecu, motronicic mp9.0 immo wire is pin 29 with ties in with yellow/white, tried going straight on to that with immo but still no go! do ecu,s ever fail and lock out completely??? there are companies who unlock the immo box or match new key to immo etc, but quite abit of money if it doesn't work because of ecu. also can you have the ecu unlocked sonit doesn't require a code???????

    regards sparky.
