Hi,everyone!I am new to this site and I don't know if this is the right place to post,if not excuse me!!!
So,I have 165 000 on clock and wondering what oil spec should I run.I've been reading trough many sites about this, but I couldn't find the right answer. Some say fully synthetic, some part.Recently spoken to Audi mechanic and he said that I can go for part synthetic with that mileage, but the turbo might not like it.I am really confused now.He also said that if I go for fully synthetic all the carbon deposits and junk between the piston rings and cilinder wall will be washed and that will caused high oil consumption(oil burning).
The car is running very very good(I can't tell the mileage is that high).Recently vagcom'd and n75 changed with various vacuum hoses,DV cleaned, seafoamed aswell.
Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Quantum Syntha is a synthetic "blend" wich is semi synthetic to you and me. Use 5w40 FULLY SYNTHETIC oil and drop-it every 5-6 k as them engine are prone to sludge and will be terminal for the turbo and top end ! WE KNOW MORE THAN YOUR DEALER !

Right, that was super quick answer!!!Thanks for that.Yes,I will take your advise and exchange the oil I was intending to put in Saturday. So,I'll get the fully synthetic one(gold, isn't it) and give it a shot. All I am worried for is the oil consumption. How much do you think I will loose in 4-5k as I always do an oil change in this interval. Thanks in advance!!!

Hi again!Done the oil change yesterday with quantum 5w30.everything went well, took it for a test drive and noticed a bit faster pick up trough the revs and the oil temp gauge on the dash showed couple of degrees less than before (91 before, now sits around 88).
I will check the oil level in couple of hundreds miles and let you know all.I am going on 150 miles journey today and will see how it goes.
Do you know what's the normal oil consumption for these engines (between oil changes or 4-5k how much I am supposed to loose)?

1000 miles since the oil change and not even drop usage of oil.I've been checking the thread regurarly and there seem to be no interest at all.If you have any comments, plese post or I can help someone else as I've done a lot of job on my 1.8T myself like suspension arms, hazard lights switch, manifold removal etc(all common problems). Many different things which I think will be helpfull to someone else. Thanks!
