Hi, ive got an A4 2.0tdi B7 Avant with a knock on the front suspension. Its a small rattle when i go over holes/dips at low speed but can still be lightly felt through the car at speed also.
I have recently had the steering rack and track rod ends replaced under warranty and the bottom arms both sides were also replaced so i know it can't be these that are at fault. I have jacked up the car and checked the top arms and can not see or feel any movement in these arms either, also checked the top mounts, fine here also.
One thing i did notice is that the rubbers in the anti roll C links look abit tired but i can't see any movement. Although it sounds like the noise is coming from that sort of area. They don't look like the sort of thing to knock like the ball and socket type
Do these have a tendancy to fail? Am i missing something?? Its driving me mad!

Please any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Could well be the anti-roll bar/bushes that are on the way out.

I would say the ARB bushes, having all the other work done is highlighting the wear in the bushes, its that distinctive clunk when going over even small holes in the road, for the cost of some new ones I would change them anyway.
