I have a 2004 1.9tdi sport avant and I was wondering if anyone knew if I could fit 15" steel wheels? Will they clear the brake calipers?

The wheels in question have an ET33 offset and the tyres I'm thinking of fitting are Pneumant PN 150 Wintec 195/65 R15 91T M+S. Any opinions?

I tried 15inch alloys on my A4 tdi 2003... and they fitted.. but they were really really close to the brake calipers... so I decided not to buy them... was looking at 16inchers instead... then gave up when we got more than a foot of snow... ( just went for the quick option and put new winters on my 18inch riims... )

    Hope that helps
    Steve

    Cheers Steve,

I finally managed to get some sense out of Audi today who said there was a 15" steel listed in their parts catalogue for this car so I took the plunge and ordered 4. At least I can hold someone accountable if they don't fit. I would imagine a steel wheel would have a bit more clearance than an alloy due to the material thickness so hopefully they will be ok.

I'll add to the thread once I know for future reference/searches.

£38.50 each and they keep a stock in the uk, so you should have them within a few days. The part number I ordered was 8e060102703c and they are 6.5j x 15h2, et33.

I also ordered a set of Dunlop SP Winter Response 195/65 R15 91T M&S for £68.60 each inc delivery from mytyres.co.uk.

I figured the narrower wheel would get better traction in winter conditions, plus the tyres are cheaper.

I contacted Audi in Edinburgh and was told that steel wheels wouldn't fit my car, even although the B-pillar sticker said 205/55/R16 M+S. I'm currently running 235/40R18 with summer tyres which are shockingly bad for the snow.

Was quoted £72 each for 205/55/R16 steel wheels, but no guarantee since ETKA doesn't list them for my car, I mean what the hell.

Would this be from Edinburgh Audi?

Yeah it was from Edinburgh Audi. The chap in the parts department was very helfpul but initially told me that I couldn't fit 15" steels due to the offset being different from my 17" alloys (the 15" steels are ET33 and the 17" alloys are ET45).

However I asked Him to double check and He told me they were indeed listed as an option for my chassis number. So I ordered them. If they don't fit then it's Audi that are at fault for listing the part.

15" rims should be brilliant then, as long as they fit!
