    hi guys,

so as above ^^^^^^^^^^ after fitting the headlamps i managed to activate the the Bi-Xenon and DRL's successfully and all is working and looking sweet to say the least.

the only problem im having is a fault code has popped up on dash with a picture of a headlamp and an arrow coming up from the back of it an over the top, its not the fault for the Xenon range as i looked it up in the owners manual and it says "ADAPTIVE HEADLAMP DEFECTIVE" and because of this fault the car wont let me in to adjust&learn the Xenon range using my VCDS.

the TT has been lowered, and i did ponder weather the ride height sensors are stopping me from performing the ADJUST&LEARN for the Xenon range so i raised the front and rear end by means of a two poster ramp at work to maybe try to trick the car into thinking it was higher but it still did'nt work.

so im now thinking maybe there's some sort of coding that needs to be performed and only the AUDI ******** know what needs to be done????????????

if anybody can shead any light on this i would grately appreciate it.

    thanks in advance

what code changes have you made to address 09
what fault code do you get in headlight range and central electrics
have you fitted the headlights and the loom or have you changed central electrics as well
have you added level sensors or were they already fitted
i retro fitted the lot and had a few issues covered here http://audiforum.us/8p-platform/1344...incorrect.html

    09-cent elect
    07-coding
    long coding helper

the car already had Bi-Xenons as standard A8, and also has a switch in the car for the DRL's the only difference was that the TTS headlamps are LED DRL's and his standard headlamps used halogen sidelights as the DRL's. so no need for changing/adapting the wiring loom what so ever, just swap them over and change

    Bit 6 scandanavian DRL's to Bit 5 N. American DRL's i think it was

then further towards the end of the long coding, cant remember the exact byte off the top of my head, but you've got to change the headlamps from "Bi-Xenons with seperate DRL's" to Bi-Xenons with LED DRL's"

i also activated the DRL's to dim when indicating like there meant too.

and that was pretty much it i think.................

the fault just says "Xenon Range" when i do an auto scan, but if i select the Xenon Range seperatly and go into Fault Codes it says "NO COMMUNICATION FROM CONTROL MODULE" ?????????????

    im baffled

    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/02071

    1 Fault Found:
    02071 - Local Databus
    004 - No Signal/Communication - MIL ON
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 11100100
    Fault Priority: 2
    Fault Frequency: 1
    Reset counter: 251
    Mileage: 70695 km
    Time Indication: 0
    Date: 2010.09.26
    Time: 22:00:00

some how you have bus fault, try refitting the old lights and recode 09 then clear the faults down and retry, it appears either there is a difference in the wiring but need to look at cfd to confirm but check the bus signal AT J519
    Attachment 9513

    Attachment 9514

L174 DRL BULB L176 LED DRL

does sound like j519 or headlight range has blown but again this needs checking to make sure the can is ok, try address 55, 19 or 09 mvb 125 this should show all the network bus status with 1 = ok and 0 not ok
To test the bus you need to scope high and low with the circuit connected and switched on, if the can pattern is distorted then the controller has gone but if it flat lines then its open circuit or easier still swap the control units from another vehicle to see if the can comes back on between j533 and headlight range.

is this something that can be fixed if this is the case A8???? or does it render the headlight useless???

i'll check these an get back to you

I know this I an old post.

But I'm having this exact problem.

I up graded my 2008 audi tt3.2 roadster,
FROM: adaptive xenon lights with "normal" drl
TO: tts LED drl adaptive lights.

    Now:
    - lights mostly work, drl turn signals, headlights, high beams ALL OK
    - no adaptive function on headlights
    - dashboard warning: dynamic headlight range control defective
    - (vagcom finds) (55)xenon range, fault 02071, no signal communication

Did you ever resolve YOUR issues? What did you do?

    Thanks if you can help,
