    Hey all!

I purchased some LED sidelights the other day, and posted them back the very same day. For all considering LED sidelights, do not buy these. They say Audi on their website, so you'd think they would be Audi specific (obviously not sold buy Audi).

As the LEDs are on each side of the pcb there is very little illumination. You can barely see any light shining from the light unit. I may try a different type of LED, maybe some with the LED's on the front of the bulb.

Also, very tricky to install on the A4 as the side lights are at a funny angle in the light cluster. I checked the handbook to see if I was doing something stupid as I was struggling to get the original sidelights out... the handbook does not give instructions for changing, it actually says sidelights are to be replaced by a qualified technician!! Crazy isnt it! To change a sidelight you've got to book the car in. I wonder how much Audi charges for a replacement bulb + fitting ! Hopefully not an hour's labour + cost of the bulb!

Linky is below of the type i purchased... do not buy!

If anyone has fitted led sidelights can you post some piccys? Be good to see sidelights on only, and another piccy with sidelights + dipped beam on.

    Many thanks!

Try Philips BlueVision sidelights- they look cool too.

Also removal of sidelights is a pain but can be done with perseverance and force.

I have tried the 'No Canbus Error' ones from Autobulbdirect (didn't illuminate at all) and also these from ebay:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=130373986162

The first one always lit OK but on fitting the second, it flashed a couple of times and went out. Had 4 bulbs so tried different combinations but when fitting the drivers side light it always failed. Refunds given in both cases.

The ones from ebay had 8 LEDs, the one that lit was bright but unless you have the ice white in your headlights as well it looks odd.

Heres a link to another possibility:

I also had trouble getting the sidelights out and read on various forums, the only way to get them out is tug on the wiring! Plucked up courage and it worked.

Good luck in finding some that work.

Yep that is sidelights only, I think the pic makes them look a lot brighter as it was taken when very dark. During dusk they are a blueish white colour, much better than the standard side lights.

Also using LED side bulbs, do you not get the bulb out error?- I tried LED number plate bulbs from ECS which kept throwing this error, they are now on my Golf MK5 with no problems and look awesome.

    Hi,

I've got a slight issue, the A4 that I have already has LED sidelights fitted (by previous owner) however they are throwing up an error so I purchased some new 'CANBUS ERROR FREE" ones from eBay and they've been sitting in my boot for about 3 months because I can't get the existing ones out!!!

I've tried to pull at the wires but didn't want to pull to hard - any tips on how to get them out? Is pulling on the wires ok?

    Thanks,

    Baz

It's easier if you remove the headlight.

Thanks guys, already have the lights so will try removing the headlights tomorrow - the previous owner has also fitted HID's so will see if the wires will have enough play in them to pull out the headlight.

I fitted led sidelights to mine and with the resistors I've had no problems. Nice and bright coupled with 6000k hids the look great.

If you still want pics let me know what you want and I'll get them tonight in the dark.

Edit: I didnt remove my headlamps and managed it fine
