    High everyone

    I'm looking at a 3.0 Litre 2006 A6 Allroad. It's done just over 100k miles.

Any comments? I know the issues witht the 2001 model (as I have one).

I own a 2006 A6 Allroad 3.0 TDI and have 120.000 km, have had no probes with it. I have bought it with 15.000 km second hand and I am very pleased with it, had 2 Mercedes Benz E230 and E200 and a BMW 528i but Audi Allroad is my favourite car by far. I highly recommend it if it has full service history.

I have a 2004 new shape 2.4L petrol A6 which has now done 90,000 and it runs as well today as when i bought it at 4 months old. No sign of any rattles or squeaks and engine/gearbox as smooth as silk. If it is a diesel then even better. As long as it has been serviced regularly by a reputable garage Audis are fairly bullet proof although I have no experience with the allroad. Obviously I have looked after mine but as long as the high mileage is reflected in the price my personal opinion would be to go for it - good luck

My Audi just turned 70k - the inside is still mint the car runs fine and Im pleased with it - hope to take it to at least 200k - get my money's worth from it. Should do it no problem !

ensure its got a FSH pref by a proper audi specalist. check its got all the keys and everything works ! try the abs check the air con the usual checks - ensure all the toys work to sat nav radio cd player. all can be expensive to fix. Good cars and can and do go the distance I know Id prefer an Audi / VW to a ford or vauxhall any day as they are well built and seem to do galatic miles with little issues of problems.

My baby has done around 76k miles now I guess in around 3 and a half years. She's been looked after, serviced when required and given anything she's neede and more.....runs sweet as a nut and I get great mpg and performance too. Everything is still tight as a drum and has the new car feel both inside n out with no squeaks / rattles. Having driven Ford Mondeos ( a good car IMO ) for over 15 years and each one doing 160k miles in around 3 years with little / no probs I fully expect she'll easily go on to 200k + and then some if looked after with only the usual and expected areas to watch out for

I've got a '56 plate 3.0tdi tiptronic Allroad that's now done 84k. It's a great car - love it. Great to drive, loads of power and comfortable, but the parts are expensive. Definitely worth an AA inspection first - I saved way more than the price of the inspection with what the guy found. (The previous owner had to fix the climate control circulation pump/valve unit so solve a no-hot-air problem).

So far I've had to replace two dampers at over £700 each, and the 3.0tdi has a few common faults that are very expensive (check out the threads on inlet manifold runner fault codes - £1200 per bank). The inlet manifolds get quite sooted up due to the EGR and I'm hoping a thorough clean out will clear a few error codes.

If you don't already have it, get a genuine Ross-Tech HEX-CAN VCDS cable and the workshop manuals so that you can do your own troubleshooting to start with.

Let us know what you get - PM me if you have an more questions and I'll give you my number.
