I've decided to send the ECU off my faulty ABS pump for repair to ecutest.com (I think they're called)

They have asked me to remove ONLY the ecu bit which I'm told doesn't involve taking the pump off.

Does anyone know or can anyone tell me the best way to do this and what kit I'll need please?

It's my last hope of getting the car through MOT without having to sell one of my kidneys.

    Cheers

Will I need to take the wheel off?

Can I not just buy a new module rather than send it for repair? I don't mind stumping up a bit extra...

    Do ecutesting only repair then?

I'll have a go at taking it out tomorrow and get it off to them anyway, it's just they advertise replacement modules for £200 - the girl I spoke to wasn't very helpful to be dead honest.

could be replacements from pumps that were beyond repair.otherwise the ecu was fine ???? hence £200 .

Just about managed to get the ECU off the pump. Hard work as I couldn't be bothered to take the wheel off.

Will update when I've had it back and put it on how this saga ends. Hopefully.

    Thanks for all the input.

    GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

The ECU was returned extremely quickly from ECU testing and after fitting it all is well again. YEAYYYY!

Big thanks to everyone for their input, especially Crasher. This site has just saved me £700.

Would definitely recommend ECU Testing to anyone with a module problem. Really impressed.

    Thanks again.

    hi bwfcspider,
what were your symptoms for your abs ecu fault?
I've had esp light on for nearly 12 months, and codes indicate fault in abs pump, but unlike you the repairers want the whole unit, much more difficult job, and more inconvenient re car usage. (7-10 day service). Your posts almost made me get the job done, but now I'm discouraged.
    cheers, zillfish
