Hi yesterday my 2004 A4 1.8t 190 Sline wouldnt start , The starter motor would turn but no ignition eventually i mannaged to get it running after a few Coughs and farts but the engine management light came on.

My friend came around with a diagnostics machine and came up with the code 16727 Camshaft Position Sensor P0343 G40 Signal To High. This morning i have replaced the camshaft sensor and cleared all the fault code's but the car is still having the same problem starting and the engine management light soon came on, the car runs fine when started when i can eventually get it to start.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Dose anyone have any ideas of what to do next? And why it keeps showing this fault code?

Any advice would be very helpfull cheers Matty.

I suspect you are looking at a wiring fault but it could be a pain to find.
