    Can anyone help with Allroad suspension;

    Here's story so far, I had original problems with front suspension sagging, dashboard lights, G291 and control limit not reached fault codes, replaced front airbags and all was ok for a while....

    Then it started to refuse to change levels, really struggling to rise in height, fault codes as above. So I thought must compressor, struggling...

    350 quid later, last Sat decided to change compressor, to my horror, suspension completely failed, light on permanently, found out it was wiring to G111 relief valve. Fixed that temporary, really needs new connector housing, but also noticed wire hanging off connector going to valve block, so fixed that too, looked to me like it had vibrated itself apart (does anyone else think that Audis wiring is pants, no connector shrouding anymore!!)

    Suspension seemed to be working ok, no lights, up/down really quick, but it refuses to automatically adjust on the motorway, always staying at level 2. Incidentally I don't have the automatic/manual mode option on mine, just the level lights, I know I have had it working in the past, but any error code seems to make it fail, although there is no fault light indication.

    It seems strange cause the car has recently started to lean too, both front and back on the drivers side, but only down to a certain level then it stops.

    I need to check again for fault codes, plus does anyone think this may be a cal problem?? I did do a recal (402 mod) when the suspension originally started to act up, but wonder if it went wrong altough it was accepted.

    Anybody have any ideas??

    PS.
    Has anybody seen these self study packs on the web, specifically the allroad ssp_442;

    Ahhh, yeah, sorry... typo! The actual ones that are applicable are these, but just scan through the index;

    ssp_241 - Audi Allroad
    ssp_242 - pt1, Air Suspension
    ssp_243 - pt2, this one outlines the Allroad suspension.

    Very useful!

    Incidentally, the auto mode on the suspension has started to work again, forgot what the threshold was, seems to be around 80MPH, it certainly doesn't work at 120KMH as per the documents above, but maybe its different in UK.

    The leaning, check for fault codes first, could be a faulty level sensor.
    however if none and it is all working again as it should I would try recalibrating the height

    Well, I re-calibrated the suspension and all seems ok now.

    I did realise while doing the cal that;

    a) you need to make sure you're on a flat surface (I know sounds stupid), because even sllight slopes can cause problems.

    b) Don't sit in the car while you're calibrating, it makes a difference.

    No fault codes since, and auto mode works great.

    I think the old compressor was ok, so I suggest anyone with problems check the wiring first, to the valve block and the relief valve on the compressor. These were causing my problems.

    Hi,

    Its funny because I scheduled the compressor to go on ebay at 19:00 (Fri 6th) earlier on, so if you're interested make a bid. Its ebay item 280545249409, just enter the number in the search field.

    I'm fairly sure its ok and if it helps someone then great....

    Any chance you consider shipping this to Ireland? I see you've got a UK only bidders policy so no worries if not.

    does it sink or just not sit level?

    To calibrate the suspension level you need to use VCDS software, known as VAG COM, this allows you to input the actual heights at each wheel then the system re-sets itself level again. You would normally perform this after replacing a sensor or if you think one has been dislodged.

    The valve block is under the car sits just in front of the spare wheel well, it is mounted on the same bracket as the compressor, easy to see, it has all the colored pipes coming out of it.

    if you have suspension level issues best to get a fault code first using VCDS. why looking for the valve block?
