Depends on the connection type on the back of the new stereo you are getting. You might need an adapter and fascia plate (Halfords?) to connect it up and fit properly

I have heard someone saying that after-market stereo's can interfere with the electrics. Not sureif there's any truth in this? Maybe someone else can help?

Just a quick heads up bud, if you are heading to quick fit for your service make sure they drain the oil from your engine and not your gearbox.

I know this sounds like a really daft point but a couple of days after having my a4 avant serviced there the gearbox went. Posted on here for advice as to where to replace the gearbox and found another owner in exactly the same position.

When the garage checked my gearbox there was no oil in it and no obvious signs of a leak. However to prove this was nigh on impossible and I ended up forking out over £1000 for a replacement.

£45 may seem like a big difference but pales in comparison to a bill for over £1000 to fix shoddy workmanship.

Just a friendly bit of advice, realise not all garages will be as incompetent as my local Quick fit but better to be forewarned.

    Good luck with the fault.

On another note re Quick Fit. A few years ago, me and a mate fixed up my car's brakes and they were faultless. We took it to QF for one of their "free brake checks". From a distance, we watched them put brake fluid on the calipers and discs, then had a poke arouind for about 5 mins, they then approached us and said it was leaking and needed £400 worth of work! Wished I'd had my phone to hand to take a vid...
