    Hello guys

got my car bloody misfiring on me now, did a scan and came back with two codes.
    one for random misfiring cylinder
and the other for no.3 misfiring.

what do you guys recommend as best coil pack and plugs to get for this engine?

    thanks

Use a genuine coil pack and NGK plugs.

it is misfiring in motion and in idle.
yesterday my dads mate is an old school VW mechanic changed two of the coil pack for me. no. 1 & 3.
they were all he could get his hands on at very last minute so i appreciated his help, however i know many people say change all 4.
so i'm thinking to get the other two changed in the next few days as well.
gonna chuck it in for a service now as well, i think it's coming up with a few issues so wanna do it for some piece of mind.

If you don't know when they were changed, then put 4 matching ones in, keep the old working ones as spares for emergencies. They do go quite regularly on some cars, others seem to last and last.
    Options being considered:-
    312mm Brake upgrade - Definite
    Remap - Definite
Hybrid Turbo and Custom map - hmmmm
    Decat - hmmm

just drove the 2.5 miles to the loacal dealer to pick up 2 new coil packs to replace tonight.
and it started misfiring again, this time it was only in motion and not when idle.
this is getting to be silly now, i'm trying to borrow a laptop from work and download vcds lite shareware as i have my lead
    and do a scan.
i just hope it's the other two coil packs that haven't been replaced that are causing a problem.
i drove it 20 miles to work this morning without any problems.
this car is starting to do my nut now.

can i change my coil packs by hand without any tools?
i don't want to drive my car the 18 odd miles back home while it's giving me a bit of misfire.
    i want to change no.2 and no.3.
how can i tell which is which by looking at them?

They pull off and are numbered 1 to 4 front to back.

    which spark plugs are better?
    Denso or NGK
and is it better to go for a performance type plug or a standard long life one.

i've seen the iridium ones that denso do and heard they're good, what would be the NGK equivilant and which would be best.

    thanks
