Have a 04 2.5 T5 that has had the large turbo hose replaced along with the clip. It blew it off again today under a bit of load but nothing too much. Just wondering if this is a common thing and are the clips really any good. Did manage to refit hose in about 5 mins but really don't want the wife having to do this. Any comments most welcome. Cheers

It is common on T5, the clip and Lugs on the Hose wear. But, if the hose and clip have been replaced together i wouldn`t expect it to blow off. Is everything fitted correctly? I would have thought if there was a Turbo Overboost, it would go into Limp Mode and not blow a hose. Check for excess wear were the clip sits in the housing.

    Thanks for that.
I will have to take it back to the garage to get them to check it in front of me. Wife did it yesterday but guy who checked it did not give her much confidence that her knew very much about it. Would this happening cause any damage to either the turbo of engine?

    Thanks

    Allan

No damage, just a sudden loss of power...which isn`t good in some situations! Are you sure clip and hose renewed together, or is it a new hose and the original clip?

Yes both clips and hose replaced at the same time. It's the bottom part of the hose that comes out, possible worn plastic housing that it goes into according to the garage. We have put a jubilee clip over the retaining clip to keep it firmly in place. Will have to see how that goes. Will let you know how it goes as I don't expect the plastic housing will be pennies!!

Yeah, possibly be that if the hose still blows off.

Hose has stayed on since fitting jubilee clip. It looks like problem solved. Might even fit one to the top end of the hose as an added precaution.
